Lea Michele has just shared a heartbreaking photo on Instagram of her boyfriend and Glee co-star Cory Monteith, who died on July 13 from a drug overdose : “Thank you all for helping me through this time with your enormous love & support. Cory will forever be in my heart.” The Instagram post marks the first time Michele has opened about the death of Monteith, whom the Glee cast honored last week during a private memorial . 20th Century Fox said in a statement that the cast and crew of the musical comedy gathered on July 26 to “to share memories and music in an emotional celebration of the life of Cory Monteith.” Michele attended the memorial, according to Fox, but until now has not directly spoken out about the tragedy. A statement sent earlier this month from her reps on her behalf read: “Lea is deeply grateful for all the love and support she’s received from family, friends, and fans. … (Michele and the Monteith family) are supporting each other as they endure this profound loss together. We continue to ask the media to respect the privacy of Lea and Cory’s family.” Glee creator Ryan Murphy announced that the show will air a tribute episode to Monteith this fall.
